The Juliánov Housing Estate in Brno Its Art and Landscape Architecture

The study deals with public space in the Juliánov housing estate in Brno, built in the 1960s, examining it as an exceptionally coherent environment where architecture, landscape and visual art – including a rare ensemble of functional sculptures – were conceived as an integrated whole. Based on archival research, fieldwork and comparative analysis, it interprets Juliánov as a Gesamtkunstwerk and an important reference for the assessment and preservation of post-war housing ensembles.
